BDE is an enterprise level product that recommends valuable data to customers, it has 3 features needed to be emphasized. (1) data analysis through topic cluster (2)data asset relationship shown by interactive infographics (3) a sense of shopping for data. However, the functional prototype (see picture below) didn't meet our needs, for the lack of layers and emphasis on the page.
I refined BDE by using clear icons, colors and textures to distinguish among different sections, and guide our users. Meanwhile, zoomable data-asset relationship chart as well as floating windows enabled users to dive in and out among details more flexibly.
