Ashui Paint (2011)

The official site design for a Chinese paint brand Ashui delivers the brand message of colorfulness, environmentally friendliness as well as care for homes. In order to alleviate the negative association people have with paint, which is the "noxious chemical product", I used vivid and light-hearted colors and icons to neutralize the industrial impression of it. Other than that, I embedded some micro-interactions in the page to increase engagement. For instance, the way the page spreads is from left to right gradually, mimicking the splash of paint.

In this project, I also advised on content strategy. From customer survey, we understood that the factors that people care most about a paint brand are its authenticity (since there are many fake paints in the market),safety, effect (especially color and durability). Hence we added the section of "brand safety certificates" and "customer cases" to clear customers' doubts about the brand and its safety, and to demonstrate how it actually looks like when painted in different settings in pair with furniture and other interior decorations.
